Snow Day Fun!

Brr! It is cold outside my friends. Yesterday something wonderful happened. Lots of white, fluffy snow fell from the sky which makes today a special day..... it is a SNOW DAY! While it is cold outside, have no fear- here are some fun activities you can do inside or out!

Let's start by reading some stories together. Here are three fun books about snow!

Parents- There are two ways to view.

1. Using a desktop computer, you can see the Youtube video from this blog without having to connect to a different website.

2. Using the safeshare link below each image. This should also be accessible from a mobile device.

Tu B'shvat 2021

The birthday of the trees is a time of celebration in the EC! Tu B'shvat is traditionally a time we spend celebrating together as a collective, however this year we had to become super creative with our celebration of the holiday.

Class spent time exploring the birthday of the trees in a variety of ways.

Loose Parts exploration:

D creates trees using playdough

Maon friends work together with bristle blocks to create trees

Pom-poms and glue make the perfect tree topper!

Ganon friends find inspiration from real-life photos of Almond trees. Did you know Almond trees are the first tree to bloom in Israel?

The Peuton children created unique trees using loose parts too!

Z made a tree house!

7 Species of Israel:

Students enjoyed recreating the 7 species of Israel (grapes, wheat, barley, dates, pomegranate, olives, and figs) and even enjoyed sampling some yummy dates!

Literacy Exploration- creating birthday cards and reading lots of stories all about TREES!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREES!

Art Exploration: using real photos, the children created inspired works of art.

Music: No holiday celebration would be complete without a song or two!

Chanukah Night 6

Tonight HHAI shares in lighting the community menorah at the Federation. In the spirit of that, I thought tonight we could light our own candles together.
